Nandipha DuBois, affectionately known as Nandi, is a “dance scientist.” Nandi was born and raised on the Southside of Chicago and has over 20 years of dance experience. She recently graduated from Xavier University of Louisiana with a B.S. in public health, with concentrations in Black maternal health and dance. She has participated in global research and advocacy projects across South Africa, Zambia, Egypt, Brazil, Trinidad and Tobago, India, and Europe. With a strong dance background from Muntu Dance Theatre and Seasons Center, she blends artistry and activism to promote Black maternal health and youth empowerment. She is a UNCF Mellon Mays Scholar who studies how dance can promote physical and mental wellness for women, particularly Black women.
